Bankuish is a startup that helps millions of entrepreneurs and freelancers in Latin America access financial services. Our app connects gig workers with personalized loans and offers from the largest banks and institutions in the region. Together, we are helping banks better serve this niche and simultaneously helping gig workers improve their financial security.

The Role

As Backend Developer, you will be responsible for the interchange of data between the Bankuish App, the Bankuish databases, and partner integrations. This includes but is not limited to the design of the overall architecture of the platform, ensuring maximum performance and stability. The right candidate will be passionate about using technology to solve real world problems.

You are expected to understand Bankuish systems architecture, be a team player, lead technical decisions and have good communication. You will be responsible for designing the APIs.

If necessary, you will work with new technologies to integrate with our partners through APIs, using asynchronous communication and events.

You will be responsible for creating PoCs and providing guidance to the technical team.In this role, you will have the opportunity to help develop the architecture and technical processes as we scale.

At Bankuish we are fully remote and widely dispersed, working from our own homes and neighborhoods across the world. We still prefer to collaborate and communicate in real-time.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years experience designing cloud native solutions with AWS or GCP
• 2+ years experience managing teams and providing mentorship to junior developers/teammates
• Demonstrated ability to build architectures that support scalable, high performance mobile applications
• Experience with CI/CD (Gitlab or Jenkins)
• RESTful APIs design
• Automated unit testing

Desired Skills:

• Prior Startup Experience
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with Golang/NodeJS
• Optional certifications
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect
  • GCP Cloud Developer
• Working experience with NoSQL and SQL Database
• Spanish and/or Portuguese bilingual fluency is not required but is preferred.
